The Oculamotor or Eye-tracking test

Researchers have shown that the cerebellum controls certain precision eye movements. It has been shown that people with poor function of the cerebellum as well as people with dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD have poor control of various eye movements.

The cerebellum is involved in developing precision skills through practice and precise eye movements are no exception.

The Eye-tracking or oculomotor test is used by Dore to assess a range of eye movements and reactions. The results of these tests help us to identify whether there is a pattern of performances which suggest that the cerebellum might be functioning inefficiently.

We also repeat this test every few months to help assess improvements in precision movements which are linked to improved function of the cerebellum. We also use these results to help prescribe exercises to improve some weaknesses in control of eye movements.
