The Dore Programme

What happens on the Dore Programme?

Your first visit

At the first visit you will meet your Programme Specialist who will support and guide you throughout all the various tests and assessments required in order to make a full assessment of your difficulties.

There are several tests and assessments you will undertake during the full assessment.

Balance test

This test assesses precision balance performance. Click here to see more about this test and to watch part of a balance test being performed.

Eye-tracking test

This test assesses precision eye movements. Click here to see more about this test and to watch part of an eye-tracking test being performed.

Skills Assessment

This extensive test assesses a range of different skills. Click here to see more about this test and to watch part of a screening test being performed.

Individualised Evaluation

This assessment allows an extensive and carefully structured record of personal symptoms, symptom changes and goal achievement areas. These are reassessed at various times throughout the Dore Programme so that we can show you precisely the changes you have told us about. Sometimes they may be quite subtle so you may not have even noticed over the time period.

Behavioural Evaluation

This professionally developed assessment is used extensively by specialists worldwide to assess attention skills and behavioural performances. These are assessed during the Dore Programme in order to precisely assess specific changes in attention skills and behaviour.

Practitioner Consultation

Our fully qualified practitioners will meet you in our consultation areas to guide you through the full results of all your assessments and tests. They will also perform a range of cerebellum related neurological tests to assess for signs of poor functioning of the cerebellum.

Programme Report

Our practitioners will summarise all the various tests, assessments and examinations in an easy to follow and comprehensive report which will be sent to you by post following your initial appointment.

The Dore Exercise Prescription

Once you have seen the practitioner and fully discussed the suitability of the Dore Programme you will be prescribed your specific Dore Exercise Programme.

We provide your exercises through a new system called MyDore. Your Programme Specialist will give you a full explanation of how to access this on the Dore Website. To use this system effectively you will need broadband access. This system will provide you with all the information and support you will need to successfully carry out your prescribed Dore exercises at home.

Click here to see some examples of our individually prescribed exercises.

This whole process takes around 2-3 hours of your time.

Progress Visits

We like to see our clients when necessary in order to assess progress or to re-test cerebellar function. These visits will vary but if you are managing well and can maintain good motivation you may only need to see us 2 or 3 times during the programme.

The content of these visits vary. Sometimes you may have to repeat balance or eye tracking tests. Sometimes we just need to review your progress and motivation.

We will constantly assess how you are doing using MyDore which automatically tells us what your progress is like.

Completing the Dore Programme

Once we are happy that you have gained the maximum from the Dore Programme you will be able to complete the programme. We will complete all the final assessments required and send you a full report and certificate of successful completion.
